The BioValley Life Sciences Week aims to offer a platform to experts and executives of the Basel economic region, in which strategies and innovations in the domain of Life Sciences will be discussed and debated with a wider audience. The various events during the three days are to bring together personalities from academia, business, politics as well as the general public of the Life Sciences cluster of the region of Basel, being the largest in Europe and the densest Life Sciences cluster worldwide.

The BioValley Connect Day is composed of four sets of company presentations that are framed by a panel discussion, contributions of investors, an Investor Luncheon and the BioValley Basel Award 2010. Leading pharmaceutical firms as well as mid-size biotechnology companies will anchor the partnering activities with presentations, panel discussions and foyer displays. The BioValley Connect Day provides a great opportunity to present your company and we kindly invite you to participate.

Along the BioVallIey Life Sciences Week, other important life sciences events will take place. In 2009 this was MipTec – The Leading European Event for Drug Discovery. The two congresses attracted over 2’600 participants. The exhibition and science sessions were alive with discussion and exchange of ideas. In 2010 the 40th anniversary symposium of the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research as well as ILMAC – Industry Exhibition for Research and Development, Environmental and Process Technology in Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals and Biotechnology – will also take place in parallel, making this week the biggest life sciences event in Europe. Furthermore the INSEAD Alumni Association Switzerland, the Swiss Healthcare Industry Club (cHIC), will organize a panel on Thursday evening.

The interaction between different life sciences events offers an excellent opportunity for networking and information sharing to the participants as well as to the public and highlights the importance of the Life Sciences research and industry in Basel.
